SFR is the second telecommunications operator in France with more than 20 million customers.

Objectives

The CASE project was the establishment of a new converged infrastructure (2G / 3G / Internet / Access Partners) that host services for SFR customers (web portal, MMS / SMS platform, game portal, platform geolocation streaming platform, etc.).

Mission

The Simstream main mission was to accompany HP and BT, as part of this project through the provision of a full team (a project leader, a project manager and 4 engineers) during the design phase and the operational phase.

Solution

Simstream allowed to:
• Define the OS and applications backup policy,
• Set up the architecture,
• Define installation and configuration procedures,
• Assist projects for the implementation of the backup policy,
• Maintain centralized backup solution on the 2 production sites and the 2 pre production sites.

Benefits

Simstream allowed the establishment of storage and backup solution for the 100 servers, for CASE infrastructure equipment, and for 500 servers and service platforms (Linux, Solaris, Windows)
